Michelle Paquet - Monette

Michelle's love of sewing began early, when, at the age of five, she stitched together pieces of her mother's sewing scraps to make Barbie clothes and accessories. Later, home-ec. sewing classes provided an opportunity to learn to fashion and create clothes for herself that actually fit (tall girl problems!). A corporate career and university and college teaching took her away from sewing for a few decades, but now in semi-retirement, Michelle has returned both to Prince Edward Island and to working with scraps! Her current focus is on designing ethical clothing, bags, and home decor items using found and re-purposed textiles that she can turn into beautiful, practical and unique artisan pieces.
