Ann Worden

As a child, I watched my mother create such beautiful embroidery, needlepoint tapestries, counted cross stitch pictures, braided rugs, quilts, and knitted pieces. Like her, I have always needed to create things with my hands. And now, as a retired school teacher, I think it’s essential to keep learning new things. I love to create with natural fibres such as wool and yarn! I have knit sweaters and scarves, but recently, I learned to make little knitted animals. Spending about 5 months each year on the north shore of PEI, I have also been a keen observer of the wildlife here – foxes, raccoons, skunks, hares, and mice. And now that we have grandchildren, I was inspired to make something little hands could easily grasp and play with. The ‘Woodland Woolies’ are made with safety in mind – no buttons, or small parts, making them perfect for babies and small children.
